5th Generations Of Computer, Artifficial Intelegence.

Fifth Generations Of Computer, Present-Beyond, Artifficial Intelegence,

Fifth generations computing device, use artifficial intelegence. This are still in developement. through there are some application like voice regonition that is still being used today. Artifficial intelegence is the branch of computer science that making computers behave like humans.

This technology includes,

- Game Playing: Programming computer to play games such as chess and checkers.

- Expert Systems: Programming computer to make decision in real life situation (example: physicology concerling, doctor diagnoise desease by symtomps)

- Natural Languages: Programing computer to understand natural human languages.

- Neural Networks: Systems that simulate intellegence by attempting to produce the types of physical connection with animal brains.

- Robotics: Programming computer to see and hear and react to other sensory stimuli.

4th Generations Of Computer, Microprossesors

Fourth Generations Of Computer, 1971-present, Microprossesor.

This technology is being used now till present. This technology come after the Intergrated Circuits. As thousands of Intergrated Circuits were rebuilt into one silicon chips.

A silicon chips contains CPU. In the world of proffessional computers is used now. Microprossesor also control the logic of most all digital devices. From clock, radio and many other things coms from small Microprossesors.

These are three basic characteristic diffrentiate Microprossesors.

- Instruction Set: The set of instruction that the microprossesor can execute.

- Bandwith: The number of bits processed in a single instruction.

- Clock Speed: Given in Megahertz ( MHz), the clock speed determines how many instruction per second the processor can execute.

In 1981, IBM its first computer for home user, and in 1984, Apple introduce the Machintosh. Microprossesors are being used everyday now. As time goes, computer get more become powerful and powerful.

3rd Generations Of Computer, Integrated Circuits.

Third Generations of computer, 1964- 1971, Intergrated Circuits

The used of the Intergrated Circuits was used in the third generation.Reffered as semiconductor chips. Transistor was miniaturzed and placed on a silicon chips, this was called semiconductors. This will increase drasticlly the speed and the effficiency of the computer.

Silicon is the basic material that is being used to make computer chips, transistors. Computer consist of many chips place on a electronic boards, called printed circuit boards. There are different type of chips, CPU chips, called the microprossesor are one of the example.

Pack huge number of transistor into single wafer of silicon. Robert Noyce of Fairchild Corporation and Jack Killby is the people who discovered this amazing tecnologies.

Burroughs 6700, Control data 3300, 6600, 7600, honeywell 200, and UNIVAC 9000 series are the examples of Intergrated circuit technologies

2nd Generation Of Computer, Transistors

Second Generation Of Computer, 1956- 1953, Transistor.

This technology comes after the vacuum tubes. Transistor is a device composed of semiconductor materials that amplifies signal or opens or closes a circuit. This invent on 1947 at Bell Labs. Transistor has become the key of all digital circuits including computers. Without the inventions of transistors, computing as we know today will not  be possible.

This technology is invented on 1947 but widespread until the late 50s. The Transistor is alot more cheaper, faster, smaller, energy efficient more than the first generations of computer.

COBOL and FORTAN, these was also the first computer that stored their instruction on their memory, which move from magnetic drum to magnetic core technology. The first computer of this second generation was developed in the Atomic Energy Industry.

1st Generation Of Computer, Vacuum Tubes

First Generation- 1940-1946, Vacuum Tubes,

The first computer that is being used was the Vacuum Tubes technology. It use circuity and magnetic drums for memory. Taking up the entire rooms. Single drum can have up to 200 tracks . As the drum rotates at the speed up to 3000 rpm. The action is similar like a magnetic tape/ disk drive. This technologies can read and write.

This is very expensive to operate. This generates alot of heat, and have a great amount of electricity when this Vacuum Tubes is being used. This technology can only solve one problem at a time.

Vacuum Tubes use machine language. Only understood by a computers. Known as assembly language.

The UNIVAC and ENIAC computers are the examples of the first generation of computer devices. The UNIVAC and ENIAC was made around 1951. ENIAC stands for Electronic Numerical Intergrator And Computer. The ENIAC weighing 30 tons, using 200 killowats, of electric power consisting of 18.000 vacuum tubes, 1500 relay, and hundreds thousands resistor, capacitor and inductors.
